Our Team

Vilija Hudson, D.M.D.

It is both an honor and a privilege to have been entrusted by Dr. McCully to take over his practice.  I want to express my deep gratitude to Dr. McCully for the exceptional care and trust he has built with each of you over the years. Though the name on our door will change, one thing will remain constant – the friendly faces you’ve come to know and trust. I am grateful to share that all of our dedicated staff members will continue to be a part of our team during this transition, ensuring that you receive the same warm and familiar experience when you walk through our doors.

I have been practicing dentistry for eight years, and I earned my dental degree from Tufts University in Boston. Though I found my calling in dentistry, my undergraduate degree is in fine art from the Rhode Island School of Design. During my time there I cultivated a deep appreciation for the fusion of art and science, which I believe is at the heart of our profession. My family and I moved to this beautiful community in 2019, and my husband is a fourth-generation Eugenian. We have two wonderful daughters who you may occasionally spot around the office.

I genuinely look forward to working with each and every one of you to maintain your dental health in the years ahead. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Your comfort and well-being are my top priorities, and I am here to provide you with the best possible care.

George McCully, DMD

In 1974 after completing my general practice residency I began seeing patients at 1374 Willamette, Suite 4.  In 1985 we moved into our new office at 622 East 22nd Ave, Suite B where I have continued to practice.  I have been very blessed to have been able to practice now for more than 50 years.  A huge part of that blessing is seeing you, my patients. I have had the great pleasure of seeing my practice grow up with me and have several generations (in one case 5 generations) of family as patients who have been with me for decades.  And yes I continue to see patients who started with me during that first year.  Another reason for my success has been my wonderful staff who have taken such good care of each of you and also me.  It has been difficult to have some of them move on with their careers or retire.  It has been my good fortune to have had many of them work with me for multiple years and even decades.

Some of you have asked over the last few years when I plan to retire.  I did turn 75 earlier this year. I still love seeing all of you but my answer has always been that I needed to find someone who would replace me and continue the comfortable and compassionate care that I have tried to provide.  I have interviewed a number of potential dentists who were interested and finally have found one who I believe will continue in the same vein as you have experienced.  There will be some changes of course but most of the current staff plan to continue and so there should be no lapse in your care.  The new dentist joining us is Dr. Vilija Hudson.  There will be more announcements coming about Dr. Hudson in the future.  I plan to retire from regular clinical practice later this year.  I look forward to seeing you over the next several months as we prepare for this transition.

I was the cavity kid in my family….Not an enviable position! I learned early that a friendly, trustworthy dentist is a good person to go through life with. Empathy, compassion and tenderness are of great importance to me. I have worked with Dr. George for 13 years now and appreciate his “chair-side” manner and superior skills. My personal belief is that honesty, knowledge and smiles are important to a patient’s happiness and well-being. I want our patients to leave our office with beautiful smiles, healthier teeth and gums and feeling like friends.

I have worked for Dr.McCully since Feb of 2009. In all that he has taught me, the most important is that I work for you, the patient. I will make every effort I can to make your dental experience as comfortable as possible. I will always be considerate of your time and dental angst.

More personally, my family and I enjoy camping, fishing, Hiking, and snowboarding. I hope to see you soon & help you to have a lasting healthy & happy smile!

35 years!! WOW. Dental Hygiene has given me the opportunity to help people enjoy great smiles, and healthy mouths to last a life time, give back to my profession and dental health care in my community. As a member of the McCully team, I’ve grown in my profession with knowledge to provide current techniques and information to benefit my patients care. My career has given me the flexibility to be an active mom in both my boy’s lives and time to support my husband in his career. I’m involved in teaching snow skiing, and enjoy sailing, gardening, traveling, being in the mountains and spending time with family and friends.

I attended the University of Oregon and graduated from the Oregon Health Science University in 1978 earning a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degree. I’ve taught Continuing Education and Study Clubs for Dental Hygienists, as well as been an examiner for Dental Hygiene Licensure. I’m a member of local, state, and national dental hygiene associations and have held numerous positions in these organizations over the past 35 years. I’m an alpine level III ski instructor with 42 years of teaching experience, a member of the Professional Ski Instructor of America organization, and a level II time and calculations timer for the past 14 years with an officials license in the United State Ski Association.

Over 25 years ago, I joined the dental field with the goal of helping patients improve their lives with a smile through orthodontics. I recently joined Dr. McCully’s team and am learning the field of general dentistry. I love interacting with our patients on a personal level so they feel welcomed and comfortable in our office. Dr. McCully and the team have done so much to make me feel at home here as well.

I am married and the mother of three great kids, two boys and one girl. They are my greatest accomplishment as they are turning out to be incredible people. I enjoy playing the piano, mostly for church, camping, and traveling to places that are warm with sand and blue water. I live out in the country on five acres with two cows and a dog named Lola. When I have time, I also like to exercise, shop and go out to coffee with friends.

I am so blessed to have this opportunity to join Dr. McCully & his amazing team. I have been in the dental field for more than 30 years – both assisting and administrative positions. I am excited to be joining this high quality, compassionate & fun practice.  I have always enjoyed helping people to achieve their goals for good dental health and smiles that last a lifetime. It is such a pleasure to meet people and patients and make them feel welcome in this office. I have been married for more than 30 years and have 2 beautiful grown children, and 2 precious grandchildren.  We enjoy exercising, camping, hiking, waterskiing, tennis, riding 4-wheelers and game nights.

I am delighted to be working for Dr. George McCully. He provides quality dentistry while valuing patient rapport. Since 1995 I have been very fortunate in my career as a dental hygienist. I continue to enjoy being a catalyst in providing support, services, and education for people to maintain, retain or make changes toward a healthier mouth and smile. I also appreciate learning from my patients and working with a good-hearted staff. I enjoy healthy choices and life adventures beyond dentistry. Making time for myself, family, friends, animals, and travels is high on my priority list. So on that note, I look forward to seeing you!
